This blog will detail the Rantidi Forest Excavations in Cyprus lead by Dr. Georgia Bonny Bazemore of Eastern Washington University.
Note from Dr. Goldman: Dr. Bazemore's collected material are providing a terrific opportunity to teach these newcomers how to distinguish different types of pottery. We're examining the pieces to study form (= morphology), fabric (= the interior composition of the clay), surface treatment (i.e. slips, glazes) and more. The best way to do this is to sit down and examine lots of pottery, which we've been doing for several days now as we work through the Rantidi material.
